Then, let’s start with the district of our school: Friedrichshain. It is a really cool and fashionable district like the near Kreuzberg and Prenzlauerberg. The ideal “border” between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg is the worldwide famous “East Side Gallery”.
Café Tasso: it is not only a welcoming café with an almost daily schedule of concerts, plays and readings, but also a bookshop where the books cost only 1€ and there are also books for free.

Volkspark (fuente cuentos): the green lung of the district an also the oldest public park in Berlin. As soon as the sun shines many kinds of visitors go to the park: groups of friends or family that meet to enjoy a barbecue, people that just want to sunbathe, skaters, volleyball players, people doing taichi, acrobatic yoga or just enjoying the good weather.
The Fountain of Fairy Tales (in German: Märchenbrunnen) is located in the Volkspark Friedrichshain in Berlin. In 1893 the authorities of Berlin issued the artistic entrance to the National Park Friedrichshain The fountain of fairy tales was commissioned by the National Park and later designed by Ludwig Hoffmann. Hoffmann put forward the idea of a fountain in the park to describe fairy tales. In 1901 the planning for the fountain begun, along with the design. The grand opening of the fountain was held on 15 June 1913 and the major works on the fountain were from 1907 to 1913.
Boxhagener Platz: the pulsing centre of the Kiez; on Saturdays you can go shopping to the street market, where you can find auf fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and Bakery products both from Germany and Europe. On Sundays you can also visit the little flea market. Boxi is famous for its numerous bars, clubs, pubs and cafés, especially in the proximity of Simon-Dach-Straße.
This is an unique “Viertel” for Its inhabitants, its shops and its parks and the general atmosphere in this district.
